Why should I begin therapy?
There are many reasons to start therapy. Some people begin therapy when they are in crisis, experiencing feelings of instability or are in some type of transition in their life. Others begin therapy to build insight, improve their relationships or understand the world around them. My role as a therapist is to work collaboratively with you to identify your goals for therapy and create the steps to get there. It is my goal to provide people with a safe and nurturing environment on their journey in therapy.
What is the difference between Family Systems Therapy & Individual Therapy?
As a marriage and family therapist I prescribe to a family systems theory. People are greatly impacted by their relationships and interactions with others. These relationships and “systems” include family, friends, social groups and coworkers. It is through these interactions that people change, grow and gain insight.
Individual therapy which is also known as psychotherapy, talk therapy or counseling is a collaborative journey between the therapist and the client and it works to create change and improve a person’s quality of life.
What is the difference between a life coach and a licensed therapist?
Seeking mental health advice from a licensed practitioner is crucial for several reasons. Licensed professionals have undergone rigorous training and adhere to ethical guidelines. They can accurately diagnose mental health conditions, provide evidence-based treatments, and offer personalized care. Consulting with a licensed therapist ensures that you receive reliable, confidential, and effective support.
